Fine, sterile, single-use needles are placed according to your exact needs. Every session is fully customised, so no two treatments are alike. Procedures like cupping, gua sha, or moxibustion are added when helpful.

FAQ's
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, as fine as a few strands of hair. The needles used in our clinic average just 0.16 to 0.24 mm in diameter, around 10 times thinner than a hypodermic (injection) needle.
Tram uses premium Japanese Seirin needles, known as “the Painless One,” so most people feel little more than a small tap, and many find treatment deeply relaxing.
Do I need a referral to see the acupuncturist?
No. You can book directly, just like with our osteopaths. No GP or specialist referral is required.
Is acupuncture covered by ACC?
Yes. Tram is an ACC-registered provider and can treat new and existing ACC injury claims. Our osteopaths can also initiate a new ACC referral for you in-house.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your condition, how long you've had it, and how your body responds to acupuncture. Tram will recommend a personalised treatment plan at your first visit and will closely monitor your progress. Some issues improve in a few sessions, while ongoing, complex or chronic conditions may need a longer course for sustainable relief.
How long is a treatment?
Your first visit is the longest, as it includes a full consultation and diagnosis. Follow-up visits are shorter. You'll see the length of each appointment type when you book.
Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy?
Yes, when performed by a qualified, registered practitioner. Tram has extensive experience supporting women through pregnancy, and treatments are always adapted to your stage of pregnancy.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing where possible. If you have an existing ACC claim for acupuncture, please bring the details for our front desk.
Are the needles safe?
Absolutely. We use only sterile, single-use, disposable needles that are safely discarded after every treatment.
